Golpe no Whatsapp atingiu milhões de usuários;

Circula pelo aplicativo Whatsapp uma mensagem que promete um recurso de personalizar a interface do serviço com cores diferentes. Porém, a personalização é uma armadilha para enganar os usuários e disseminar vírus por meio do aparelho celular. A empresa PSafe contabilizou mais de 1 milhão de pessoas enganadas pela fraude.

A mensagem recebida pelo app induz o usuário a clicar em um link, que supostamente disponibiliza as novas opções de cores no Whatsapp. O vírus pode ser instalado em todos os sistemas de aparelhos com iOS, Android, Windows Phone ou BlackBerry. Antes de promover a instalação, a vítima tem de compartilhar uma mensagem com amigos ou em grupos.

O vírus é instalado depois da mensagem compartilhada, onde um botão de ‘ativar recurso’ é liberado na tela do celular e induz o usuário a instalar vários aplicativos de fontes desconhecidas. Para cada app instalado, uma quantia em dinheiro é depositada para o hacker responsável pelo golpe.

Os usuários do Whatsapp devem se proteger com a instalação de antivírus nos aparelhos, não clicar em links e programas desconhecidos e evitar o compartilhamento de tais mensagens duvidosas. Uma dica valiosa: preste atenção ao se conectar em redes Wi-Fi que não tenham senha, procure apenas as redes protegidas, que possuem maior segurança no envio de dados.
